A Photo Essay By Carl Flocco
Faith | The Photo
Every photographer is asked the same question hundreds of times in their careers: What’s your favorite photo you’ve ever taken? Most people will show a few different images, leading to the answer, “I don’t have a favorite,” or “I love them all.” This photo, featured above, is my biggest accomplishment as a photographer. Over the past six months, I have grown firm in my Christianity, and it has been life-changing, life-changing in the way I do and see everything. I didn’t want to bring it up on this page, with the worry of losing people’s support because of my religion. I have become unashamed and aware that my purpose is to spread His Word, and doing it through photography is the most beautiful and resounding way I can do that. Since the start of football, I have been trying to capture The Power of The Lord in my photos, and I feel I did that here: Two brothers getting ready to play the game they love, talking to their God. Nothing is more beautiful than Faith, Family, and Football, all being shared powerfully in a moment of life. The falling rain and the whole town supporting them behind make this picture that much better.
This is the power of photography.
